Product Description: The Passback Story

The Passback Football was conceived by Mike McGonigle in 1993. While watching a Halloween football game, his attention was drawn to a whimsically carved pumpkin, seemingly challenging him with its wide grin. Inspired, Mike playfully hurled it against a wall, marveling as it returned to him in a gentle spiral. Upon returning home, he began modifying his old Nerf balls into flat football shapes, achieving similar results to the pumpkin toss. Thus, the concept of the Passback was born.

In the mid-1990s, Hasbro launched a Nerf rendition known as the Turbo Blast-Back. Today, the Passback resembles a standard football cut in half, featuring a rubber pad on the blunt end. Available in composite leather or rubber, it mirrors the weight, feel, and stitching of regulation footballs.
